Medicare Advantage

What is a Medicare Advantage Plan

Most people assume health coverage from Original Medicare is enough for them but some are choosing to get their benefits from a Medicare Advantage Plan (MA Plan).

MA Plans are contracted with the federal government and pay a fixed amount per person to provide Medicare benefits.

It is important to remember, you still have Medicare if you enroll in a Medicare Advantage Plan.

The difference is, you will receive some benefits you normally wouldn’t have through Original Medicare.

What does an MA Plan cover?

Again, you will still be enrolled in Original Medicare with an MA Plan. This means you will still receive the same benefits offered by Original Medicare. However, you will receive additional benefits Medicare does not cover such as:

Dental and Vision
Caregiver counseling and training
Housekeeping
And more

Your Medicare Advantage Plan’s additional offerings may differ, so be sure to work with a licensed Medicare agent who understands your needs and budget so you can save money, not spend more money. At Young Insurance group, we will always do what’s best for you.

How can I join a Medicare Advantage Plan?

You are eligible for an MA Plan if you:
Have Medicare Parts A and B
Live within the offered plan’s service area

Do not have end-stage renal disease except in certain cases:
You may enroll in an MA Plan if you have ESRD and need dialysis or a kidney transplant if you join a Special Needs Plan that specifically accepts people with ESRD. Or, there may be other special circumstances that allow you to still join an MA Plan.

Do MA Plans offer prescription drug coverage?

Many MA Plans offer prescription drug coverage (Medicare Part D). People with Original Medicare who want Part D coverage can also enroll in a standalone Part D Plan.

How can I enroll in an MA Plan?

Medicare Advantage Plans are offered by private companies, like Young Insurance Group, approved by Medicare. If you join an MA Plan, you still have Original Medicare but receive additional coverage not offered by Original Medicare. To enroll in a plan, or simply get more information, all you have to do is submit a request to talk to a licensed Medicare agent from Young Insurance Group and we will show you how you may be able to save money with an MA plan.
